Russian Diesel and Glow Engines
These fine assorted engines from Russia are very good values for the price. The AME .01,9 & .060 W/M Norvel glow engines are perfect for small 2 channel. R/C and powered sailplanes. They feature an effective silencer and an intake filter screen. The AME .049 Zeus Glow is an ultra light, high power unit designed for pressure feed in contest free flight and combat applications, but it can draw on suction with the optional intake restrictor. The Glow head uses standard 1/4x32 short glow plugs, or it can accept Cox glow heads. The MK-17 and MARZ engines were designed for mass production and distribution throughout the U.S.S.R. These engines were widely used in the Communist school systems during the Communist occupation, and with the expulsion of the Communists, large stocks were available for export at exceptionally low prices. These are excellent "first diesels" because of their excellent performance at a bargain price. The MDS 1.5 Diesel is delivered in auto or marine configuration, but can be reassembled for rear Intake, rear exhaust configuration for conventional aircraft use. These are speed engines. The Taiphoon & Typhoon engines are high performance, but affordable .15's well suited to combat or free flight. The KHD is a high quality classic team race type engine which will perform well in casual competition or sport applications. The Meteors and related Kometa are excellent stunt engines and could serve well in many sport applications. The Stas's 7 R/C were produced soon after the fall of Communism in very limited quantities. It was intended as an economical sport R/C power plant in the .40 size range. Although many of these rare engines are purchased by collectors, they are quite serviceable engines with moderate performance and are intended for no or low nitro fuels. The Zeus 10 and the MDC P10-PY are conventional design sport .61's. The P-1OPY was produced under Communism whereas the Zeus is a post Communist design which features a slide type R/C carburetor. This is an excellent choice for serious pattern competition.
